(951) 736-8888 Fax Job Description: The videographer/editor intern will be responsible for the production and editing of: 30 second commercial spots and getting them ready for TV advertising. This is an unpaid internship, available for college credit or someone who wants to build their portfolio. Fall 2010 intern must be able to commit to a 3-month internship. This is not a desk job. This is not a position for someone looking to read scripts, get coffee, or do administrative tasks. This is a field hands-on production internship where you would be shooting raw footage inside our clients establishment, editing and making sure they look professional enough for TV. Were long for someone able to produce high quality commercial spots with exceptional talent so that the video looks presentable and not homemade. The Intern will report directly to the VP, Sales & Marketing and is based in Los Angeles. Responsibilities: Study scripts (if any) to become familiar with production concepts and requirements. Intern will have the creativity to conceptualize the commercial spot along with specific client requirements. Edit films and videotapes to insert music, dialogue, and sound effects, to arrange films into sequences, and to correct errors, using interns own editing equipment or software. Select and combine the most effective shots of each scene in order to form a logical and smoothly running story. Determine the specific audio and visual effects and music necessary to complete films. Make sure each music selected is not infringing on any copyright material. Organize and string together raw footage into a continuous sequence according to scripts and/or company instructions. Review footage sequence by sequence in order to become familiar with it before assembling it into a final product. Program computerized graphic effects. Record needed sounds or obtain them from sound effects public online libraries. Set up and operate computer editing systems, electronic titling systems, video switching equipment, and digital video effects units in order to produce a final product. Qualifications and Skills: Student Film/TV production experience of at least 1+ years. Proven ability to think analytically, logically and have strong communication skills both verbal and written. Extremely proficient in utilizing your own video/editing equipment and software. Must be knowledgeable in free online audio/video/graphic public library resources. Access to a personal computer or Mac as this position will be done remotely. Internet access is required for e-mail communications with office. Must be dependable, internet savvy, adaptable, flexible and knowledgeable on clients needs. Excellent communication skills, and have exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills, accuracy and be detail-oriented. Fast learner and exceptional organization skills required.
