JOB SUMMARY: Materials Supervisor

The Materials Supervisor reports to the Director of Supply Chain and is responsible for the management of materials and services as needed to support manufacturing and the business plan and direction.

Primary Functions:
• Responsibility for the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products to meet the company’s objectives.
• Manage and supervise all aspects of production control, inventory control, distribution and logistics in the manufacturing facility with a “hands-on” approach.
• Supervise all Warehouse, Shipping and Receiving operations and departmental personnel.
• Assist in the development, implementation and management of demand planning, scheduling and production control systems that support the manufacturing process and field operations
• Assist in the development, implementation and management of projects for improvement of inventory turns inventory accuracy, service levels, material and logistic cost, and quality.
• Assist in the development, implementation and management of a Plan For Every Part material replenishment method.
• Assist in the development, implementation and management of supplier quality systems, driving suppliers with key performance indices (KPI).
• Create purchase orders, based on safety stock levels and/or purchase requisitions, into Great Plains (GP) and fax/email purchase orders to vendors as required
• Facilitate the on-time delivery of materials by expediting shipments from suppliers as necessary and following up on late deliveries and/or vendor backorders
• Manage raw and wip inventory levels to support manufacturing requirements while minimizing inventory investment
• Combine PO and Receiving receipts and reconcile discrepancies for Accounting department
• Data entry in Great Plains ERP system to create and manage new part number creation and Bills of Materials as needed.

Education Level
• Bachelors Degree in Business or relevant work experience required
• APICS Certification a plus

Experience Required
• Minimum of 5 years experience Material and Production Control in a manufacturing environment
